I sent out a tweet on this.  If Colorado can garner enough signatures to put a recall of two state senators on their ballot, Arizona should be able to get enough to put a recall for these bozos on their ballot!

"FREEBIE" (BLASTFAX): Tell These GOP Senators to Get off the Amnesty Fence‏

Dear LAURA,
Today ImageHarry Reid wants to pass S. 744, the amnesty for illegal aliens bill, before the July 4th recess. The pro-amnesty crowd is worried that if they don't ram it through as quickly as possible, public outcry will defeat this outrageous scam.
In order to keep the heat on the Senate and to ensure that amnesty goes down in flames, Pray For US is offering a Freebie campaign today.
Although our enemies may be swarming around us and the times may seem dark, all is not lost. We know that we can defeat this amnesty scam through the power of prayer - and through relentless public pressure on our elected officials.
We've selected a targeted list of eight GOP Senators who are on the fence on amnesty. They could vote either way.
If we can convince just ONE of them to publicly declare their opposition to amnesty, it could set off a chain reaction and give other Senators the courage to vote against the Gang of Eight's plan.
So please send your FaxGrams to the Senators on this list today. Pray For US will pick up the tab for your first 8 FaxGrams. We also have options for you to fax the entire GOP or all 100 Senators.

All of the faxes and phone calls from patriotic Americans have already made an impact on the amnesty bill.
Harry Reid wanted to have the bill passed by now but the process has been delayed and more than 100 amendments have been added to the bill.
Senator Ted Cruz said in a radio interview just today, "It is amazing what hearing from the grassroots can do.  The reason President Obama's gun control proposals were killed, his proposals to undermine the Second Amendment, is because hundreds of thousands of Americans... [communicated to congress their disfavor..."
Your faxes to the Senate on amnesty are making a big difference already!
FaxGrams and phone calls need to pour in by the hundreds of thousands once again to defeat amnesty.
Send your faxes to this list of eight GOP Senators immediately at no cost. Urge them to publicly declare their opposition to amnesty for illegal aliens!
Don't believe the media hype that this amnesty bill will pass. They claim to have 70 votes in favor but that is a bald-faced lie.
Even some Democrats are having reservations about this scam after reading it. As we've seen on previous amnesty attempts, like the one in 2007, support in the Senate can collapse on a dime.
We just have to convince one of these on-the-fence Republicans to step forward and get the ball rolling. Please click here to send your personalized FaxGrams to the Senate today!
Send Faxes Now Image
As we mentioned, we will pay the cost for your first eight faxes.
All we ask in return is that you share this campaign with as many people as possible by posting it to your social media pages, such as Facebook, or by sending this link to all of your family members, friends and acquaintances:
Don't forget to call your Senators personally after you send your faxes. The number to the Senate switchboard is (202) 224-3121.
Sincerely,

Report from the Judiciary Committee Meeting hearing room LIVE 10:40am  EST

The Judiciary Committee could not open its meeting for the markup of the SAFE Act as the committee room was overwhelmed by pro-illegal alien protesters LOUDLY clapping, standing up and chanting.

Capitol Police were called upon scene.

The committee room was "cleared" of protesters who continued to protest loudly and shouted outside of the meeting room: "SI SE PUEDE,"  - disrupting the committee hearing.  Capitol Police were called to quell the disruption outside of the committee hearing room.

The committee room is filled with "Dreamers" in high school caps and gowns - who were not removed from the committee meeting room.  They were informed that if they disrupt the meeting, they will be removed from the hearing.

The hearing proceeded with the Ranking Member Conyers and Congresswoman Lofgren's opening remarks -  denouncing the SAFE Act as "backward" and "racist."

NOTE: CONGRESSWOMAN LOFGREN  (PHONE: (202) 225-3072)  STATED THAT SHE UNDERSTANDS WHY THE PROTESTERS DISRUPTED THE MEETING BECAUSE SHE SAID FAMILY MEMBERS ARE AT RISK.

House Judiciary Committee to Markup Immigration Bills Next Week

Washington, D.C. – Next week (Today, June 18)  the House Judiciary Committee will begin marking up several immigration bills.  Since the start of the 113th Congress, the House Judiciary Committee has taken a step-by-step approach to reforming our nation’s immigration laws, embarking on a careful, methodical examination of various components of our immigration system.  To date, the Committee has held numerous educational briefings for Members of Congress on our immigration laws, convened nearly a dozen hearings on immigration, and has introduced several bills that provide solutions to different aspects of our immigration laws that need to be fixed.

On Tuesday, the Committee will markup the SAFE Act (H.R. 2278), a bill to improve the interior enforcement of our immigration laws and strengthen national security.  The House Judiciary Committee held a full committee hearing on this bill yesterday.  Following the SAFE Act, the Committee will begin to markup the AG Act (H.R. 1773), a bill to provide American farmers with a workable temporary agricultural guestworker program that will help provide access to a reliable workforce.   The Immigration Subcommittee held a hearing on this bill on May 16, 2013.

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.) and Immigration and Border Security Subcommittee Chairman Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) released the statements below on next week’s markups.

Chairman Goodlatte:  “For far too long, the standard operating procedure in Washington has been to rush large pieces of legislation through Congress with little opportunity for elected officials and the American people to scrutinize and understand them.  Rather than rush a bill just to ‘find out what’s in it,’ the House Judiciary Committee has instead followed the traditional legislative process of regular order so that we do not repeat the mistakes of the past. Immigration reform is too important and complex to not examine each piece in detail.

“Next week’s (Tuesday June 18)  markup is part of this process and will afford members of the House Judiciary Committee the opportunity to thoroughly vet two critical pieces of legislation.  The SAFE Act avoids the mistakes of the 1986 immigration law by providing a robust interior enforcement strategy, including granting states the ability to enforce our immigration laws, that will help ensure we put an end to illegal immigration.  And the AG Act provides American farmers with a workable temporary agricultural guestworker system so that they have better access to a reliable workforce.  By removing red tape and other hindrances, this will help farmers to continue growing our food and our economy.

“As the Committee moves forward, we will continue meeting with members of both sides of the aisle and across the Capitol, as well as other stakeholders and interested parties, to reach consensus on the many issues plaguing our broken immigration system.  It’s imperative that we get immigration reform right so that we provide Americans and those wishing to immigrate to our great country a workable immigration system for the years to come.”

Subcommittee Chairman Gowdy:  “Throughout the 113th Congress the Judiciary Committee has held multiple hearings on the various aspects of reforming our broken immigration system. Next week’s mark-ups of the SAFE Act and the AG Act are the next steps in ensuring we do not repeat the mistakes made in 1986 of legalization without accountability and enforcement.

“A primary function of government is public safety, but under this Administration, we have seen our immigration laws go unenforced, gaps in our national security persist, and criminal aliens released on to our streets. The SAFE Act is a critical step in our efforts to strengthen and enhance interior enforcement and ensures we will not be having this conversation again in 10, 20, or 30 years. The AG Act grants American farmers access to a functional, effective temporary agricultural guestworker program.

“I look forward to continuing this discussion with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle, as well all interested parties. As we continue this discussion, it is critical we examine every aspect of immigration reform so we can create a system that works for many years to come.”

"READ THE BILL" RALLY AGAINST SENATE AMNESTY

A very interesting post from http://capsweb.org  about a rally against the "Gang of Eight" amnesty bill S.744. This follows this post about Rush Limbaugh not covering the Gang of Eight amnesty bill. This follows this post about the racial componant of the "Gang of Eight" Bill.  This follows this post about the release of illegal immigrant felons from prison by ICEThis follows this post about how to Report Illegal Immigrants! "READ THE BILL" RALLY AGAINST SENATE AMNESTY

Read The Bill!

The Senate will begin debate this week about S. 744, the Senate's 'Amnesty First, Border Security Maybe' bill. If passed, this bill will grant amnesty to 11 million illegal aliens, give out 33 million work visas, and cost American taxpayers over $6 trillion.

Thanks to your donations and faxes, CAPS will be delivering reading glasses to U.S. Senators insisting that they READ THE BILL (S 744, the immigraton-amnesty bill) and vote AGAINST amnesty. Afterwards, we will host a rally to show WHY they should read the bill.

WHO: Californians For Population Stabilization

WHEN: 11 a.m.  Tuesday, June 11, 2013

WHERE: Corner of 2nd and C Streets, NE, near Senate Office Buildings, Washington, D.C.

WHY: To show most Senators why they need to read the bill:
  1. Border security. What will it look like if it’s amnesty first, border security later?
  2. Joblessness.  What do you see happening if 33 million more foreign workers are given new, lifetime work permits over the next 10 years at a time when 20 million Americans are jobless?
  3. Skyrocketing welfare costs. What is your vision of America’s future when taxpayers have to pay over $6 trillion in welfare for illegal aliens?

We will ask the Senate to please read the bill and tell us.

Rubio PosterVisuals:
  • Posters with a photo of Sen. Rubio with eyeglasses drawn on his face.  "He needs reading glasses because apparently he has not read his own immigration bill."
  •  Copy of S. 744 itself. It's a lot to read! Over 1,000 pages and weighing 26.6 lbs.
  •  A bathroom scale for anyone wanting to weigh the bill for themselves.

Background: Californians for Population Stabilization is launching an ad campaign that accuses Sen. Rubio of needing reading glasses because apparently he has not read his own immigration bill.  The print advertising campaign launches tomorrow, Tuesday, June 11, on Facebook, in Washington, D.C. and in Florida. The ad shows Sen. Rubio with reading glasses drawn on his face, and asks readers to send him any extra eyeglasses to help clear things up.

Schedule:
9 a.m.  Supporters will meet at 2nd and C Streets NE to deliver eyeglasses to each Senate office with a flier, "READ THE BILL."

11 – 12 noon: "READ THE BILL" Rally held at the corner of 2nd and C Streets NE near the Senate buildings.  Please bring signs and posters.

The event is sponsored by Californians for Population Stabilization, an advocacy group that works to formulate and advance policies and programs designed to stabilize the population of California, the U.S. and the world at levels which will preserve the environment and a good quality of life for all.

If you live or are in the Washington, D.C. area and would like to help, please contact Californians for Population Stabilization by replying to this email, or calling (805) 564-6626.

Group stages immigration reform vigil

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA -- Ana Villalpando stood under the shade of a large tree tying to seek shelter from the warm May sun.

Her hair was pulled back in a ponytail revealing her heart-shaped American flag earrings.

The social worker who specializes in working with children with developmental disabilities was one of about 30 people holding a prayer vigil outside Rep. Gary Miller's office Friday.

"All we are asking for is a chance to live the American Dream," said Villalpando who recently found out she and her husband had been approved to receive their visas to become permanent residents.

The group were members of Mi Famila Vota, or My Family Votes, and the Inland Congregations United for Change, two organization from San Bernardino asking for a town hall meeting with Miller to discuss immigration reform.

Miller, R-Rancho Cucamonga, is currently monitoring the progress of the immigration reform bill, said Megan Mush, spokeswoman for Miller's office, and said the congressman has been meeting with constituents in his district but will mostly be in Washington, D.C., over the next few weeks.

The group was made up of mostly undocumented immigrants, many of them young people, hopeful new Dream Act legislation will allow them to fulfill their dreams of a higher education.

Melissa Cosio, 16, an incoming junior at Arroyo Valley High School in San Bernardino, was brought to the United States illegally by her parents when she was only 1.

"I thought I was just like everybody else," Cosio said. Then when she was in fifth grade she learned she had in fact been born in Nayarit, Mexico and was an undocumented immigrant.

"It was devastating," the 16-year-old said about learning about her immigration status. "I didn't know what was going to happen to me or if I would be able to go to college."

Cosio's family was able to protect the teen through the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals which defers prosecutorial action against certain people who meet the DOCA criteria including being at least 15 years of age. She hopes new legislation will allow her to attend college.

Many opponents to immigration reform feel rewarding those who already broke the law by coming into the country illegally is wrong and is a slap in the face of those who took legal routes to citizenship and residency.

"I can understand their anger and concern," said Villalpando who entered the country legally with a temporary visa. "But it's really an individualized thing. There are families in other countries who are starving and are looking to survive and for them you stay and die or you do something and live."

The groups have been to Miller's office at least three times prior to Friday's vigil, but when the group arrived Friday morning, they were greeted by security officers forbidding them from gathering in the parking lot.

"We were told this wasn't something from the congressman's office," explained Karen Borja, citizenship organizer for ICUC. "The owner of the building was concerned with the large group that was here last time and I guess now we have to be here on the sidewalk."

Undaunted, the group sent in a smaller group of representatives that met with Miller's staff to try to pin down a date for the public forum.

Organizers say they remain hopeful Miller will listen to their stories and will side with them.

"We've spoken to him in the past and his staff has even come outside with us and joined us in prayer," said Borja. "We're here and we're fighting for those who don't have a voice."

NumbersUSA TALKING POINTS

Stop Amnesty

Update: Tue, May 28, 2013 @ 9:25am
CALL YOUR SENATORS AND TELL THEM TO VOTE NO ON S.744 -- (202) 224-3121
https://www.numbersusa.com/solutions/stop-amnesty

Talking Points
  • The bill would grant 33 million new green cards in the first 10 years, while 20 million Americans can't find a full-time job. Please oppose S.744.
  • The bill repeats the mistakes of the 1986 amnesty - legalization before enforcement. Most of the nation's 11 million illegal aliens would receive legal status and green cards before a single enforcement provision kicks in. Then, the administration has total discretion over the implementation of enforcement. Please oppose S.744.
  • Just like the discretion given to the IRS that lead to the ongoing IRS scandal, the bill gives the Department of Homeland Security complete discretion over the amnesty, future green cards, and enforcement. Please oppose S.744.
  • According to the Heritage Foundation, an amnesty for 11 million illegal aliens would cost taxpayers $6.3 trillion. We can't afford this when we face growing deficits and a record number of Americans receive means-tested welfare benefits. Please oppose S.744.
