Local opponents of Senate amnesty bill visit Georgia senators The U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee approved an immigration bill this week. Some Georgia organizations support the measure, which provides a route to citizenship for those living in the U.S. illegally. About a dozen local opponents of the bill delivered a petition to the Atlanta offices of both Georgia U.S. senators Thursday. -- Although neither senator was available, the group of protestors started at Sen.
